In an exclusive event, author Neil Gaiman introduces and reads from his new book, Norse Mythology (2017, W.W. Norton & Company, Inc.), a dazzling version of the great Norse myths. Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. Neil Gaiman will also be joined in conversation with Ophira Eisenberg, host of NPR & WNYC's Ask Me Another. Plus, Q&A with the audience and book signing reception following the event. All tickets $45 which includes a signed hardcover book, Norse Mythology.

New York Times-bestselling author of more than twenty books, NEIL GAIMAN bends genres while reaching audiences of all ages. His works for adults include American Gods, Neverwhere, Anansi Boys, and The Ocean at the End of the Lane, which was voted Book of the Year in the British National Book Awards. His children's novel The Graveyard Book is the only work to win both the Newbery (US) and Carnegie (UK) Medals, both awarded by librarians for the most prestigious contribution to children's literature.
Gaiman will be interviewed on stage by JARED BOWEN, Executive Arts Editor for WGBH and host of the weekly television series Open Studio with Jared Bowen, which takes viewers inside the creative process, offering a blend of profiles, performances, and contemporary exhibitions by artists in Greater Boston, New England, and across the country. Bowen will talk to Gaiman about his extensive career, his creative process, and his love of libraries.

Gaiman’s newly published Norse Mythology reaches back to the source stories that have inspired Tolkien, the Marvel comics and many others. His gods are irascible, visceral, playful, and passionate. The tales carry us from the beginning of everything, to Odin, Thor, Loki and Freya through to Ragnarok and the twilight of the gods. Fry is reimagining versions of the Greek myths with their contrary Olympian gods, tragic human heroes and ruinous family curses.
